Guest Desk Assistants

Front line positions, welcoming and facilitating MVA's guests eg filmmakers and their escorts. Able to speak fluent English, Malay and Mandarin will be useful but not essential. Some knowledge of films and the film industry would be very useful. A passion for films and the people who make them is essential. If you've waitered for eight hours and kept a smile on your face, you can handle this.

Ticket Coordinator's Assistants

You will be helping our very busy ticket coordinator to manage the tickets for everyone from sponsors to guests and filmmakers. You need to be able to think quickly, hold lots of information in your head and have excellent phone skills. This requires good all round office skills including computers and some secretarial work. A demanding job but you will get to know everyone and how the festival is put together.

Judging Assistants

You will be working closely with all the judges and helping in managing the judging section. You need to be able to think quickly and hold lots of information in your head. You will be able to provide information regarding entries that will be questioned by the judges. A great opportunity to get to know the judges who have lots of experience in filmmaking.

Graphic Designer's Assistants

To support the graphic designer, producing publicity materials and notices of every kind. You need to know Photoshop and Illustrator. You need to follow directions to the letter. Attention to detail and accuracy essential. You'll be part of the publicity team and will lend them a hand too, so you need to be flexible and work well within a team.

Information Coordinator's Assistants

Working closely with the information coordinator, you'll be facilitating the flow of info through the festival. There's lots to learn, and you need to be good with people - on phones and in person - and have great stamina to keep smiling when you're juggling lots of information. You must enjoy an office environment, work well in a small team and be able to work in the background. A great opportunity to get to know everything that happens around the festival.

Technical Assistants

Are wanted by the technical team who install equipment in venues all-day long. An interest in technical is essential and some experience especially in audio is most appreciated. This work is physical, a lot of lifting of heavy things. You may get to pin a lapel mic to one of your heroes. It did happen!

Malaysian Video Awards Festival doesn’t happpen by magic. We rely on the energy, enthusiasm and commitment of volunteers and part-timers every year. We have placement (or internship) positions and volunteer posts to choose from.
