All entries for the 10th Malaysian Video Awards Festival
2005 (the “MVA”) are to be submitted by November 1st, 2005 (5 p.m.)
Completed entry forms, synopsis and supporting materials, entry fees and tapes
or any other media format to be sent to:

Submitted entries will not be returned. The Malaysian Video
Awards Council (the “Council”) shall not be responsible for:
(1) late, lost, misdirected, unintelligible, incomplete, garbled, damaged
or mutilated entries; or
(2) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Council which
may cause the entries to be delayed.
Incomplete or illegible entries will not be accepted.
The Council reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to extend the deadline
for the submission, evaluation or selection of entries.
Entries from ASEAN countries
Entries
to be sent via a pre-paid courier service with a Proforma Invoice clearly marked
"FESTIVAL MATERIAL - NO COMMERCIAL VALUE".

Best
of MVA Award - An award for the “Best of” show during the
MVA. To be chosen from the GOLD awards winners from all categories
Professional Crafts Entries - Films or constituent parts of
films made in Malaysia by companies or individuals for commercial use, that
have been produced, broadcast or disseminated using any conventional media,
TV, Cinema, in-store, DM, whether in Malaysia or overseas between 1st August 2004 and 30th October 2005.
Best Costume Design and Best Production Design
A copy of the original design / sketch / printed design MUST be submitted together
with a copy the film or video in any of the prescribed formats.
Experimental Video Entries - Films or videos made
in Malaysia by individuals or by Malaysians studying or living abroad for commercial
or non-commercial use completed between1st August 2004 and 30th October 2005.
All entries must be individually financed/self-created and no professional fees
or sponsorships received in respect of such entries. Film length is limited
to 10 minutes inclusive of titles and credits. Open to all age groups.
Short Film Entries - Films or videos made in Malaysia
by individuals or by Malaysians studying or living abroad for commercial or
non-commercial use completed between1st August 2004 and 30th October 20 005.
Film duration limited to between 30 - 60 minutes (depending on category entered).
Open to all age groups.
ASEAN Award Entries - Any film/video (short or feature length)
produced and broadcast in an ASEAN country and completed between 1st August 2004 and 30th October 2005.
The top 5 entries in the Malaysian Short Film (Drama & Fiction) category
will automatically qualify to compete for the best ASEAN Short Film. Entries
submitted may either be the work of professional or amateur producers, directors,
advertising personnel and individuals.

& Intellectual Property Issues
All
entries must be original works, and not based upon, incorporating or containing
someone else’s works or materials in any and all media formats in whole
or in part, unless applicants have the right to use, reproduce, adapt, modify,
edit, incorporate, synchronize or otherwise utilize such works or materials.
If any applicant is using any such works or materials in their entry, such entry
must be accompanied by proof of written consent from the respective owners or
authors to the satisfaction of the Council.
Applicants agree and assert that their entry does and will not infringe on any
copyright, trademark or other intellectual property whether registered, registrable
or otherwise, and that there is nothing illegal, libelous, offensive, obscene
or defamatory therein.
Applicants will be held responsible and shall indemnify the MVA for any infringement
or breach of the aforesaid covenants and all costs (including legal costs on
a solicitor and client basis) incurred in relation thereto.
Applicants also agree to and hereby grant the Council the right to use, reproduce,
adapt, modify, edit, incorporate, synchronize, duplicate, publish, broadcast
or otherwise utilize and dispose any entry, in whole or in part, in or through
any and all media formats (now existing or developed in the future), for unlimited
number of times, in connection with and/or for the purposes of marketing and
promoting the MVA as the Council may, in their sole and absolute discretion,
and in such manner as they deem fit.
Applicants also agree to grant the Council the right to film or otherwise record
their appearance, possess, voice, statements, including but not limited to any
interview with them or any performance by them of any activities, and editing,
broadcasting or including the same in all literary artistic or musical work
and sound or visual recording material related to the MVA (including without
limitation so-called “behind-the scenes” activities featuring such
applicants and/or extracts or clips from their entries) for the purposes of
advertising and promoting the MVA in any and all media (now existing or developed
in the future).

A separate entry form must be prepared and submitted for each entry. You may
enter the production in more than one (1) category. However, each entry must
be listed on a separate entry form, accompanied by the stipulated entry fee,
together with a separate copy for each category in any of the prescribed formats
for judging purposes.
Please enclose the following with the entry forms:
1) A brief description/synopsis of subject matter in English (less than 150
words).
2) One non-returnable still of the entry submitted (fully captioned).
3) A brief bio of the person(s) or companies nominated as award recipients.
